This is one one of the best series I have ever read.  It is super good, and really fun and enjoyable.  I had so much fun while reading, and you likely will too.  This series is stuffed full of detail, excitement, and suspense.  I never really felt bored while reading, and I know that this is a great series that anyone can read.

I can recommend this series for ages 8+, because this series is simple and easy to read, but have a feeling of depth to them.  They are very interesting to read, and keep you captivated with the book throughout.  Every page kept you excited and interested, every page brought something new.

I can easily rate this series 5 Stars.  This series tells you about the adventures of a teenage girl, Maddie, as she becomes a Ranger, fights a rebellion, and more.  Anyone will find some interest in this series, and really enjoy reading it.

Common Questions About The Royal Ranger

What age is The Royal Ranger appropriate for?

The Royal Ranger is recommended for ages 8-10 (Grades 3rd-5th). Like Ranger's Apprentice, it's simple and easy to read but has real depth to it. The series follows Maddie, a teenage girl becoming a Ranger, and the adventures she goes on. Every page kept me excited and interested, and I gave it 5 Stars easily.

Should I read Ranger's Apprentice before The Royal Ranger?

Definitely read Ranger's Apprentice first. The Royal Ranger is a direct continuation set in the same world with many returning characters. Maddie is training under Will Treaty, the main character from Ranger's Apprentice, and a lot of the emotional weight comes from knowing those characters' histories. Start with Ranger's Apprentice (12 books), then move to The Royal Ranger.

What order should I read The Royal Ranger?

Read in order starting with The Royal Ranger: A New Beginning. The series follows Maddie as she trains to become a Ranger, fights a rebellion, and takes on increasingly bigger challenges across 6 books. Each book builds on the previous one, so reading in order matters.

How many Royal Ranger books are there?

There are 6 books in The Royal Ranger series by John Flanagan. It's part of the larger Ranger's Apprentice universe, which also includes the original 12-book series and the 8-book Brotherband Chronicles. If your kid enjoys The Royal Ranger, they should check out Brotherband Chronicles on BookVine for more adventures in the same world.

The Royal Ranger is recommended for ages 8 - 10 (Grades 3rd - 5th).
